Today Stanford Berntein gave his opinion on recent Apple news about the rumoured acquisition of an Israeli company that produces NAND flash storage called Anobit. From this deal it now makes Apple the world’s largest buyer of flash storage, with their last quarter purchases of flash at 23% of the world entire supply. Since their product ranges that include flash now encompass the iPod, iPad, iPhone and MacBook Air this is hardly surprising. This 23% of the flash market share equals a massive 1,45o million GB of NAND flash that has been purchased by Apple.

The article also goes on to say that Apple’s strategy with its iPhones of differentiating its phone by increasing the amount of flash memory inside it. Apple also does this with the iPad as it has the three different models, the 16GB, 32GB and the high end 64GB model all of which is flash storage.

I have no idea how I managed to function in life before I had my Samsung smartphone. Although is is something that is small enough to rest in the palm of my hand it still has a fairly decent sized screen and it is able to surf the internet as quickly and efficiently as my laptop at home. For this installment in our ebook reader reviews we will take a look at the Cybook Orizon, an e-book reader with a design similar to that of the BeBook Neo. The battery life of the Cybook is around 3 weeks, it can hold up to 2000 books and has a 6 inch screen.

With enough storage space to hold 2000 books I can safely say that it is far better than some of e-book readers I have recently encountered, still a little on the poor end though. The Cybook can last up to 3 weeks on one battery charge, which is the minimum I expect from all e-book readers by now. It has the usual 6 inch screen that every e-book reader is fond of and is used as a touch screen. From what I could gather it goes for the price of $240, like many e-book readers I review, it is overpriced. The Cybook doesn’t really do anything new but isn’t so bad if you can get past the pricing. I wouldn’t buy it but you can.
